Eat Bulaga! has always been a champion of Filipino entertainment, and this holiday season, the iconic noontime show once again opened its doors to the stars and creators of the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF). True to its legacy of supporting the local film industry, Eat Bulaga! extends its platform to help promote MMFF entries, showcasing the diverse talents and stories of the Filipino film community.
Over the years, the program has become a staple venue for MMFF stars to connect with fans. Cast members take center stage, sharing behind-the-scenes stories, performing special numbers, and engaging in fun games alongside the Dabarkads. This tradition creates a festive atmosphere that builds excitement for the festival’s lineup and fosters a closer bond between the stars and their audience.
This year, Eat Bulaga! welcomed actors from a variety of MMFF entries, reflecting the festival's diversity—from family dramas and romantic comedies to horror and action-packed films. The segments provided a mix of laughter, heartfelt moments, and live performances, giving fans a sneak peek at what to expect in theaters.
Aside from Piolo Pascual and Vic Sotto's very own, "The Kingdom", Kapamilya stars Arjo Atayde visited the show to promote his action-packed film "Topakk" co-starring also Julia Montes. Atayde is the husband of Dabarkads Maine Mendoza-Atayde. Meanwhile, seasoned actress Judy Ann Santos and Lorna Tolentino is set to visit the EB stage today, December 13, 2024 to promote their horror movie "Espantaho" (Juday is the wife of Dabarkads Ryan Agoncillo while LT was once a guest co-host of Eat Bulaga in the 1980s). I also expect other stars to promote their own films like Aicelle Santos for "My Himala" (she was once a Traffic Diva in EB), and Julia Barreto for "Hold Me Close" (Julia is the goddaughter of Dabarkads Tito Sotto #TitoNgBayan)
By showcasing MMFF entries, Eat Bulaga! continues to reinforce its role as a pillar of Philippine entertainment. The collaboration not only boosts the visibility of these films but also underscores the importance of supporting local creatives during the holiday season. Fans eagerly anticipate these episodes, knowing they bring a perfect blend of star power, fun, and holiday cheer.
With the MMFF drawing near, Eat Bulaga! reminds its audience to celebrate Filipino storytelling by heading to cinemas and supporting this year’s entries. It's a win-win: local movies get the spotlight they deserve, and the show delights viewers with unforgettable moments.
Catch the MMFF stars on Eat Bulaga! and get ready to enjoy the magic of the silver screen this Christmas!
